Established c.1881, the service is now delivered by Mr Tim Canavar, the owner and manager of Hubert Swainson. Tim worked for many years with his father-in-law, Mr Geoffrey Brewster who in turn took over the business from his father-in-law Mr Hubert Swainson, who built up the successful company that continues to this day.
Mr Hubert Swainson had come into the business after service in the RAF during World War II and brought his dedication and drive, insisting on the highest standards of work and ethical considerations. Hubert Swainson worked alongside his father, Mr Ernest Swainson, who originally established the business as a cabinetmaker, carpenter and funeral director.
This family history is very important to the business today; the high standards established over the years have created an outstanding reputation as Funeral Directors and has made us into experienced funeral directors who’s every effort is made to ensure this excellence in personal arrangements continues.
